With concrete plans for the adoption of efficiency measures, REEMAIN enters in this semester its most crucial phase. The industrial partners involved have already defined the planning for the integration of optimisation interventions in their processes and are ready for their deployment. This has actually already started at Gullon, a cookies producer in Spain. Some relate to the adaptation of innovative technologies, as it could be the case for the plasma pour for Italian foundry SCM, while other entail a rethinking of current workflows. For instance, Turkish textile manufacturer Bossa might gain in resource efficiency by increasing the speed of operations in its weaving and spinning units.

Globally, this means that in the Fall 2016 we should be able to tell whether our approach has been
beneficial to our industrial partners or not. This goes hand in hand with the definition of our pre-
commercial plans. Out of 27 exploitable results, our partners at R2M are busy identifying the ones that bear most promising potential in the coming years. It actually looks that the REEMAIN legacy will be a mix of software advances (by partners IES and Est Enerij) and a package of consulting services, drawing upon a blend of competences owned by different partners and orchestrated by the project coordinator Cartif.

Parallel to this, efforts to exchange information and share approaches with colleagues from the clean manufacturing cluster of FoF projects are being intensified. It is still early to tell whether this might one day result in joint demonstration activities, but for sure the pooling of intra-project resources could be beneficial to both the scientific and industrial communities.

Spring and summer 2016 announce themselves as hot periods of the year not only in terms of climate, but also in terms of peaks of activities and expected results for our team. We are looking forward to be telling a story of success when the October breeze will set in.

Efficiently yours,
